The element and principals of art and design
So, the elements of art are as
followed. Line, Color, Space, Shapes, Forms, and Texture.
Jessica Hopper on Youtube is where
I get this info from-Understanding
the Elements of Art - YouTube
There are many different likes
of line, color, space, shape, form, and textures and in the video, she names
some for instance for line there are line variation, Contour line, and blind
contour to name a few that show that the idea of art isn't just pen on paper
but any different ideas and principals that go into just the basic in art.
The principals of design are as
stated- movement, asymmetric balance, unity, variety, rhythm, pattern, scale,
proportions, emphasis, value contrast and juxtaposition.
Again Jessica Hopper Describes
it best on her Youtube channel-Understanding the Principles
of Design - YouTube
Just like in her last video
there are principals that have multiple ways of looking at thing such as Value
contrast with a high value and a low value contracts. One thing I either didn’t
learn or forgot about is juxtaposition which as she describes is as adding many
different things to show contrast which to me means I can use something like a
deck of cards and a stick to show different in an art piece.
She goes into detail on
describing these "recipes" of art as she describes them and how they
work well with the element of art which again she describes as
"ingredient" of art and by learning these two concept and with some
practice in my personal opinion anyone can do art though my only warning is to
find something take makes you want to get up and work on a piece or else you'll
burn out faster than a writer having writers block.
